Landlord - right to manage
Landlord – right to manage
The Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 permits tenants of a block containing flats to acquire the management functions of their leases to give them control over repair, maintenance, insurance and approvals.
When served with a RTM claim, we can assist landlords with assessing whether there are grounds to object to the RTM claim if the block is not eligible under the legislation or the procedure has not been followed correctly.
Post-acquisition we can assist with practical information about who can insure, give consent or forfeit leases and with landlord becoming a member of the RTM company.
We can act for you at tribunal in respect of entitlement to RTM and/or costs.
