SLC’s Key Strategic Appointment
Since arriving at SLC to spearhead the firm’s business development, Jo Green has now taken on the pivotal role of Head of Commercial Operations.
Whilst Jo continues to lead business development, she has also taken on a much broader brief with particular focus on account management, staff development, training on non-legal aspects as well as client reporting and systems functionality.
“Before arriving at SLC, Jo had a proven track record in business development, performance and market analysis, with a strong commercial focus. She is an ardent employee development advocate and has taken to the property sector in very quick fashion. She sits on the BPF Residential Management Committee and has forged strong links with ARMA and the IRPM ensuring SLC are at the forefront of shaping the future of our sector. I know that with Jo’s drive and passion for excellence this is a key appointment for the firm” says Neil Shearing, the firm’s Principal. “Jo’s enhanced role has enabled me to focus in the main on compliance and risk and service line development as well as overseeing all financial affairs of the firm”.
Jo has already embraced the role and is confident about where she will drive the firm. She says “SLC’s key strengths are its incredible staff, huge well of ability and innovative approach to solving the problems our clients face on a day to day basis. The expertise within the firm is second to none with a property team who will offer advice and act on matters including lease extensions, lease enfranchisement, RTM, sub-letting as well as a litigation team who handled all disputed and highly complex matters right through to advocacy in the FTT.
My primary focus is to deliver a new paradigm in customer service and peerless expertise, coupled with total transparency regarding costs and process so that our clients are confident they’re in the best hands, informed, clear about fees and are kept up to date about the progress on every case at all times.
Our reporting is now unrivalled and our investment in new software and skills will ensure we lead the way and can provide clients with the detailed reports they need for both benchmarking and internal analysis.
I intend that SLC stay one step ahead of the market and continues to develop unique, innovative models which position us as the ‘go to’ firm in the fast emerging PRS/B2R sphere. Our experience in this marketplace is unmatched with a specialist department offering full consultancy and advisory services for all AST queries right the way through to drafting bespoke agreements drawn from our knowledge of all the nuances. We can advise OpCo’s with the granular detail they need to ensure they have a robust agreement in place for future ‘customers’ of their brand and have already been appointed as the preferred arrears lawyers by some of the largest funds. Working with two eminent consultants over the past six months has cemented our position in this sector and we continue to build on these successes going forwards.
Head of Commercial Operations
Our aim is to work commercially at all times for the benefit of our clients and this ethos has enabled us to maintain strong relationships
with freeholders, investors, developers, managing agents and residential landlords as our legal expertise and forward thinking cements our invaluable position in their business operations.
I am passionate about maintaining our position as a leading property management law firm in the sector today and, as we continue to deliver an unrivalled portfolio of services, customer relations and expertise, I believe we will become pre-eminent in our sector”
